JEMA will designs power systems for the German particle accelerator GSI (April 24, 2006)

The Company JEMA, European reference company for fusion and particle accelerators laboratories power supply systems, has been awarded with an important contract to design these kind of systems, destinated to German public laboratory GSI.

GSI is located in Darmstadt and is a heavy ion research centre. The laboratory performs basic and applied research in physics and related natural science disciplines using a heavy ion accelerator facility. They are building a new facility under the FAIR project (Facility for Antiprotón and Ion Research). Specifically JEMA will be responsible for the power system to feed two magnets: the main dipole and the quadrupole of the secondary accelerator NESR.

This contract reaffirms JEMA as one of the leading companies in Europe, in the exclusive field of power electronics energy systems to these laboratories. In fact, few months ago JEMA was awarded with some other important contracts to supply equipment to different European research centres in UK, Germany, Switzerland and Spain.
