JEMA and Iberinco will design the electrical systems of ITER (February 13, 2006) |
EFDA has awarded the Consortium made of by JEMA and Iberdrola Ingeniería (Iberinco) with a contract to carry out the ITER electrical systems engineering. ITER is the international experimental fusion reactor.
This facility will demonstrate the fusion scientific and technological feasibility as a inexhaustible power source and will be build at Cadarache (France), by means of an international agreement between EU, USA, Switzerland, Russia, India, China, Japan and South Corea.
ITER is considered as the second bigger scientific-technological project never carried out in the world, behind International Space Station, and its start up is scheduled for 2016.
This contract, which will last for 2 years, has been obtained in an international invitation to tender for companies of all over Europe, and will means the developing of coils and plasma heating power supplies. |
