JEMA INTRODUCES ITS FUSION PROJETS EXPERIENCES IN AN ITER EVENT (October 3, 2007)

JEMA, supplier of custom power system solutions for fusion laboratories all around Europe, participated in an ITER Industry Information Event. This act took place last October 2nd, and was organised to introduce to diverse Basque industry agents this international project itself and its derivate business possibilities. ITER is considerated as the second most important worldwide research project, after the Space Station.

JEMA is now developing one contract awarded many months ago, the engineering to define the electrical systems of this important installation. The accumulated experience of the company in designing and manufacturing many power supplies for similar projects in UK, Germany, Switzerland and Spain was the key factor to be awarded with this contract, won in a 50-50 joint venture with the Spanish Engineering firm Iberinco.

Due to this background, The Basque Country Energy Cluster, organiser of the event, invited JEMA to present its experience in a communication under the title "Power Supply Systems in Fusion Facilities". The chairperson of the event was Mr. Joaquín Sánchez, CIEMAT's Spanish National Fusion Laboratory Director.

All along its intervention, Mr. José María Del Río, Managing Director of JEMA, detailed the projects achieved by its company and the peculiarities of the potential market that ITER opens to the fields of JEMA.

Other important Spanish companies introduced also their experiences in fusion projects. This way the important audience present in this event directly received many information and opinions about working to ITER means.
